Introduction to Gross National Happiness RX60011

The course seeks to introduce the students to the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings as well as the practical application of GNH. It will first present them with the four pillars of the GNH model followed by an understanding of its salient characteristics. It will then provide them with a foundation of its basic concepts along with a more detailed discussion of different domains of happiness that it is based upon. Furthermore, besides giving students a theoretical understanding of the subject, this course will highlight the practical aspects of the GNH model in one’s daily life and lay emphasis on the scope for research in these areas. It also guides students in the practice of many of the GNH tenets in day to day life. The course also involves group projects.
