Ph.D. Scholar
and EqUIP Fellow works at Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of
Happiness, IIT Kharagpur under the supervision of Dr. Jenia Mukherjee. Pursues
research on the environment and activism in the Dry Fish Sector in Indian
Sundarbans Delta. Completed B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from the University of
Calcutta in 2014. Studied M.Sc. in Human Rights from the University of Calcutta
in 2016. Qualified UGC-NET in Human Rights and Duties in December 2018. He has
been pursuing his research interests on transdisciplinary research on the
overlapping areas of environment, ecology, and human rights with a special focus
on the Global South since the days of his masters.
Selected as Winter-Intern
and worked at National Human Rights Commission, India (2015-16). Also worked as
Research Investigator at Centre for Child Rights in partnership with UNICEF,
West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences in 2017. Completed an online
(non-credit) course on “The Science of Well-Being” from Yale. He got selected
and successfully participated at V2V Chilika Field School on Environmental
Change and Governance: Rethinking Coastal Sustainability and Development
organized by Vulnerability To Viability (V2V) Global Partnership, University of
Waterloo, Canada in collaboration with Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the
Science of Happiness, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and NIRMAN
Odisha. Participated at MARE conference 2021.
