After completing graduation and
post-graduation in History from Presidency University, Kolkata, I pursued my
M.Phil degree from the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata(IDSK), where my
research interests aligned towards environmental history, political ecology,
socio-ecological resilience studies and mainly towards transdisciplinary
research. At present, I am pursuing my Ph.D. on the history of
River Adi Ganga in Kolkata and the socio-ecological assemblages
surrounding the river, from the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of
Happiness, IIT Kharagpur. My supervisors are Dr. Jenia Mukherjee & Dr.
Anuradha Choudry.
I have received the Centre for
Policy Research’s Writing Urban India Fellowship, in February 2021 for my
ongoing research on River Adi Ganga. I had also been selected as a Huntington
Residential Institute Fellow in April 2021 for the programme ‘Anthroforming the
Landscape: A Historical View from Asia’, jointly organized by the Research
Institute in the History of Science and Technology Caltech and The Huntington
Library California. I was selected as the FRIAS Summer School Fellow in June
2021 and participated in the programme “Concepts, Discourses and Practices of
Resilience in the Environmental Humanities”, organized by FRIAS Research
Focus "Environmental Humanities". I was also jointly awarded the
Water Seekers Fellowship in October 2021, by Living Waters Museum, IISER Pune,
Social & Political Research Foundation & Centre for Water Research, for
my research on River Adi Ganga.
