Ramya Ranjan Behera is a doctoral scholar at Rekhi
Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness, Indian Institute of
Technology Kharagpur. His research interests include Population Studies,
Migration Studies, Well-being and Quality of life, Regional and Urban Planning.
As a part of Ph.D. project, he is working on the Quality of life of Migrant
Construction Workers in Bhubaneswar City. Before joining IIT Kharagpur, Ramya
graduated from Ravenshaw University Cuttack in Applied Geography. A gold
medalist, both at the bachelor’s and master’s level, he was awarded the Rajiv
Gandhi Chatra Pratibha Puruskar, Odisha for his outstanding performance in
academics as well as in students politics in the year 2014.
He also holds an MPhil degree from Ravenshaw
University and has qualified UGC NET JRF. He has represented Odisha and India
at many international political forums. He was a part of the Great Indian
Political Delegation to London, UK, in 2016. He also represented India at the
International Youth Leadership Conference, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2017 and at
the International Youth Friendship Camp (ASEAN YOUTH FRIENDSHIP NETWORK), Bali,
Indonesia, 2018. He has more than 10 papers in peer-reviewed journals to his
credit and has attended more than 15 international conferences, seminars, and
workshops.
