Ashraf Alam is a Ph.D.
Scholar at IIT Kharagpur. He holds Masters of Education (M.Ed.), M.Sc. in
Mathematics, M.A. in Public Administration, B.S. in Computer Science, Bachelor’s
degree in Education (B.Ed.) from the University of Delhi. He has presented research
papers on diverse issues at more than 85 national and international conferences
and seminars. He has qualified GATE in Humanities and Social Sciences and has
been awarded UGC’s Research Fellowship (UGC-NET-JRF) in three disciplines
namely Education, Public Administration, and Adult & Continuing Education.
Ashraf is also actively
involved in research and publication activities and as of date, he has more than
30 publications to his credit, most of which are published by Elsevier, IEEE,
and Springer, of which all indexed in SCOPUS and/or Web of Science. Over the
course of Ashraf’s academic journey, his research and teaching interest has
inclined towards philosophy and sociology of education, and in areas of
research ethics, educational psychology, and educational technology. He works at
the crossroads of research and action for sustainable development, focusing on
policies that impact the vulnerable. Currently, he is researching different
facets of the “Happiness Curriculum” at the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the
Science of Happiness at IIT Kharagpur under the esteemed guidance and patronage
of Prof. Atasi Mohanty.
